Project Description
IFC will advise AWB to ensure that it meets international best practices in SCF business as the bank is preparing to grow its SCF portfolio. The partnership is also designed to allow the bank to expand lending to SMEs, thus helping Moroccan enterprises to grow and create jobs.
Development Results
IFC will support AWB to design and implement a SCF strategy and program allowing the bank to build its position as a leader in the profitable and unexploited market in Morocco.

PS 1. Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts
As part of its due diligence and as mandated by IFCs Sustainability Policy, IFC team will review the Project to identify potential environmental and social issues and determine how potentially future negative impact can be mitigated
IFC advice will be provided in a manner consistent with the principles of the relevant Performance Standards, and include recommendations for appropriate mitigation measures whenever warranted. IFC team will assist the client, as the final decision maker, in gaining a good understanding of IFCs Performance Standards and in designing adequate mitigation measures.
