Project Description
Studies show that Turkish firms that interact more with multinational enterprises (MNEs) have become more productive and sophisticated. The project’s scoping phase confirmed demand by foreign manufacturers for local suppliers of intermediate inputs with higher technology content, if Turkish firms improve their capacity in responding to changing industry demand and competitiveness vis-a-vis suppliers from Europe and East Asia. The project will work with the government on the design and implementation of evidence-based policies and reforms aimed at fostering MNE-supplier linkages and increasing domestic value addition. The work is grounded in comprehensive up-front analysis and will be piloted based on international experience from developed countries with strong capabilities in relevant industries.
