Project Description
This project is part of a broader Tanzania Investment Climate program aimed at supporting the implementation of private-sector led approaches to improving the overall enabling environment and increasing competitiveness and investment in high opportunity value chains. Building upon previous IFC investment advisory program and in alignment with the Government of Tanzania Five Year Development Plan, this project aims to increase competitiveness and facilitate improved investment through improved sector competitiveness in three targeted areas for:
A. Agribusiness - for horticulture, enhance overall value chain and policy coordination, promote SME linkages, improve the regulatory framework and support catalytic investments;
B. Tourism – aimed at supporting regulatory reform and investment promotion in the Southern Circuit; and
C. Light Manufacturing – aimed at facilitating prioritization and unpacking of selected sectors to ascertain competitiveness of designated value chains that can be supported through targeted strategies to unlock investment opportunities.
Cross-cutting themes for the entire Program include a focus on gender-sensitive programming and enhanced private sector engagement through public private dialogue mechanisms.
