Project Description
The project will support the roll out of an effective and sustainable financial awareness focused product for low income households thereby improving the quality of financial services offered by several financial institutions working with the low income
segment. The project will be implemented in phases: Phase 1 and Phase 2. During Phase 1, financial awareness intervention will be piloted with a few select FIs. The scale-up and replication of the business model will be achieved during Phase 2 with several
more FIs. The project will support project partners through the following activities:
1.Identify sustainable models of financial awareness delivery for scaling up. The models for roll out will be drawn from IFC funded Financial Awareness Scoping Study
(Project
ID #590430) that will scope out various initiatives, analyze models of delivery across entities and arrive at an integrated, sustainable hybrid mix of financial awareness interventions for roll out.
2.Design, pilot and roll out of a new product
on financial
capability skill development aimed at low income clients.
3.Scale up and product outreach to low income households: Based on the learning gleaned from Phase 1, the product/program will be eventually rolled out with several FIs/BCs during
Phase 2. IFC will
assist the FIs/BCs to implement the financial awareness activities and integrate those with the regular operations so that it is sustained.
