E & S Information
Throughout this engagement, IFC will review the existing E&S studies and prepare a gap analysis against the IFC Performance Standards, determine whether additional or supplementary studies are required, and support the client in preparing the related terms of reference. The studies will cover key risks relevant to the Project including but not limited to i) the Sponsor’s capacity, corporate systems and procedures to manage the E&S risks and impacts associated with the Project in line with the applicable local regulatory requirements, the IFC Performance Standards, the World Bank Group Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines and other Good International Industry Practices; (ii) labor and occupational health and safety (iii) management and monitoring of contractors’ E&S performance during construction; (iv) management and monitoring of air emissions, waste, wastewater and hazardous materials relevant to construction and operational phases; (v) potential impacts on biodiversity, (vi) community health and safety, (vii) land acquisition and involuntary resettlement, and (viii) supply chain risks related to the procurement of solar panels and battery storage systems.
An early PS6 biodiversity screening will assess whether the proposed site and transmission line route overlap with sensitive biological features, including critical habitat.
