E & S Information
The ESIA for the Project will be undertaken by the Sponsor, Implementing Agency, and related contractors to meet applicable national Environmental and Social (“E&S”) laws and IFC Performance Standards (“IFC PS”) such that the Project is designed, constructed, and operated in compliance with IFC PS and other relevant and applicable E&S requirements. Potential key project and contextual E&S risks and issues are typical to wind energy projects and include: a) biodiversity conservation, including natural habitat identification and management and bird collision risk prevention and mitigation; b) land use, access and use of water resources, and related livelihood issues, including consideration of nomadic herders; c) community and occupational health and safety; d) supply chain management, where applicable; and e) stakeholder engagement and community grievance management. IFC, as potential investor in the Project, will review the ESIA and provide recommendations for appropriate mitigation measures, wherever warranted.
